Savoring Luca

A few months back when considering a holiday quarantine (making a repeat of our wonderful time with Christie and Mark last year possible again!), the thing that nearly brought me to tears was the thought of missing caring for and playing with Luca for a number of weeks. As it turns out, their family's holiday travel plans nicely coincide with much of our quarantine time, which makes the ache a little less strong knowing they aren't just down the hill from us. But we still were very happy to soak up as much time together this past week as possible. Please know that I'm only sharing a select few of the many photos I can't help but take every time we hang out. The cuteness and sweetness is just over the top!! We spent much of last Thursday together and then Luca had his first full day (hopefully not his last) at Tangly Woods yesterday. Here's snippets of how we spent our time together!

Piano concerts
Figuring out wheels
Waking the girls up in the morning
Learning how to stack blocks, and knock them down
Lots of smiles and laughter
Being introduced to the play kitchen
AND the play foods
Tender moments where he reaches for one of us when we really needed his hug
Snuggles while awake
Snuggles while snoozing
Practicing putting things IN the basket
Adoring the chickens, and wanting to get down and go after them
Getting a chance to pet (i.e. grab) a chicken
Dancing
Mutual adoration
"Helping" build the fire (i.e. tasting the wood to make sure it's good)
Fun meal times
We topped off a very special day yesterday with Jonathan and Christen joining for supper. We let Kali open her Christmas present (the game Ransom notes), since we thought it might be fun to try it out with them. It led to a lot of laughter and when we would all get going Luca would chime in.
Today I had moments where I felt like I was still basking in the sweetness of yesterday. But now "today" is actually yesterday so to bed I go!!
